Project Description

Pauline Lawson

I am a non-contentious Solicitor and provide advice in all areas of Private Client practice.

I qualified in 1983 and spent three years working for Boodle Hatfield in London W1, where I acquired a great deal of experience in dealing with Residential and Commercial Leases for a variety of properties on a landed estate. After a few years spent as a locum I took over Knowles & Co in Mitcham, Surrey and spent 22 years as a Sole Practitioner. I still act for many of the clients who I inherited when I took over the firm in 1989.

In 1990, with the introduction of the Care in the Community Legislation, I became interested in looking at the whole issue of residential and nursing care.  I advise clients who are about to move into residential or nursing care and look at the assessments and the type of care they require.

In 2007, with the introduction of Lasting Powers of Attorney, I found myself preparing many of these documents, not just for elderly clients but also for individuals who own businesses and who need to look at succession planning or clients planning long sabbaticals abroad for work or travel.  I am happy to undertake home visits.

I am a Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection for clients who have lost capacity and need assistance in handling their affairs and often advise in relation to Court of Protection applications.

In my spare time I enjoy cooking and gardening and pottering about at home.  I like dancing and Yoga.
