Living With Dementia: Dementia Awareness Week

LivingWithDementiaThroughout the month of May, the BBC have been broadcasting a series of programmes focusing on dementia – broadcasting inspirational stories and offering help and advice on an illness that affects 800,000 people across the UK.

Angela Rippon also explores the Truth About Dementia, investigating the disease that took her mother’s life and making a life-changing decision on whether to undergo a genetic test that could predict her own future risk of the disease.

Stone Rowe Brewer LLP are delighted to be supporting West London’s first dementia festival, which will be held at Strawberry Hill House Twickenham from 11am to 5pm on August 26th 2016.

The event is organised by Pathways Through Dementia, in partnership with RemindMeCare and we will feature:

  • Stalls providing information on various aspects of the dementia journey
  • Expert speakers giving advice on areas such as setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney, making a Will, paying for care, and protecting assets
  • Live music
  • Food stands
  • Rides and activities for children

This is an event for everyone affected by or interested in dementia, and everyone else besides.

Join us for a fun educational experience in the beautiful grounds of Strawberry Hill House, Waldegrave Road, TW1 4ST.

Tickets cost £5 per adult, kids go free. For more information and to purchase online tickets contact Sara Wilcox at Pathways Through Dementia: e-mail her at swilcox@pathwaysthroughdementia.org or call  0754 0982161

Hundreds of thousands of families are touched by dementia every year and many people don’t know where to turn. We know dementia can be scary but you don’t have to face it alone.

If you’re worried that you, or someone close to you, might have dementia, call the National Dementia Helpline on 0300 222 1122 or email helpline@alzheimers.org.uk for advice and support.
