A Fond Farewell to Valued Colleagues & Friends

Outstanding contribution.

Time stands still for nobody and that truism is confirmed as we announce the retirement of two SRB colleagues and friends, Iain Leslie and Richard Steer. Both have now decided to enjoy the pleasures of well-earned retirement after collectively serving our clients for 50 years and offering an outstanding contribution to SRB.

Iain Leslie - Partner

Iain joined SRB (then Stone Rowe Brewer and Devane in 1979 and has been a rock of the business ever since.

For the last 39 years he has been a Partner, helping to guide the business as we have grown and of course whilst external forces have challenged both the profession and our business.

Leading by quiet example, he has never failed to offer anything other than considered guidance alloyed to his own brand of gentle optimism and humour.

In his own areas of specialism, Commercial and Residential Property, his incredible knowledge and skills have served our clients exceptionally well over many years.

One of Iain’s great passions is golf and we have little doubt that the challenge of maintaining his handicap followed by a “swifty” at the 19th will form just a part of his retirement plans.

We thank him for his friendship, wisdom and leadership over many years and hope that he enjoys a long and enjoyable retirement.

Richard Steer

Richard Steer joined SRB in 2012 after his firm, Richard Steer & Co of Teddington, merged with us at that time.

Joining initially as a Partner and then more recently offering his expertise on a Consultancy basis, Richard has helped us to broaden our geographical base and bought insight and fresh perspectives to SRB.

Outside of the company, Richard has contributed most recently as the Chairman of the Richmond and Kingston Area of Young Enterprise and an honorary adviser to the CAB.

He too will be finding his way onto the golf course more often, as well as hopefully finding the opportunity for more travel as the current climate improves. Once again, we wish Richard all the best in his retirement.

Marking the retirement of long-serving colleagues reflects the passing of time and of course the evolution of SRB.

Recently we have welcomed Charlotte Lewis (Residential Property), Jason Hooker (both Residential & Commercial Property) and Rebecca Thomas (Residential Property) and will shortly welcome Zoe Kowalski who is joining our Private Client team at Twickenham. As part of growth plans, we are currently recruiting further in both Company & Commercial and the Private Client sector.

Best wishes to both Iain and Richard and of course those joining us as we write the next chapter.
