LPA Form Changes

The Office of the Public Guardian has published details of changes to be made to the existing Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) forms.  The new forms will enable users to create and register new LPAs on one form, to make the registration process simpler.

The guidance notes are also now included throughout the forms, to make them easier to understand. The new forms can be used from 1 July 2015.

Lasting Powers of Attorney allow you to authorise someone else (your attorney) to make decisions on your behalf.

There are two types of Lasting Power of Attorney, one which deals with property and financial affairs, and another which deals with health and welfare.

If you would like any advice on making a Lasting Power of Attorney, or guidance as acting as an attorney then staff in our Private Client department will be delighted to help. Please call us on 020 8891 6141 or e-mail a.spall@srb.co.uk
