Resolution, the solicitors family law body, are launching a national awareness-raising campaign to promote the benefits of Dispute Resolution to the public and key influencers which starts on 24 September. The organisation say; “We want to ensure that non-court based options and the positive role that mediation, collaborative law, arbitration and other Dispute Resolution solutions can play in divorce and separation, are known to as many people as possible.”
Resolution are also producing a handbook on Dispute Resolution that is aimed at a range of audiences who may be a port of call for separating couples – for example GPs – to enable them to provide advice which signposts the public towards Resolution members. Initially this will be available online.
As a result of the legal aid cuts, Resolution envisages that MPs will see an increase in constituents visiting them for legal advice, so the handbook will also be sent to every MP in England & Wales, and will be promoted at a Parliamentary event.
